Performance is an exciting part of dance education—but at Door County School of Dance, performance grows out of training.
Why We Perform
The stage is where training comes together.
Throughout the fall, dancers concentrate on technique, vocabulary, musicality, strength, coordination, and artistry. During winter and spring, choreography is gradually introduced while technical training continues.
The season culminates in a spring performance that gives students the opportunity to experience the discipline, teamwork, confidence, spatial awareness, musical timing, memory, and artistry of performing onstage.
Performance Details
What families should expect
Date & Venue
May 2027. Performance date and location will be announced. Families will receive rehearsal schedules, call times, and performance procedures well in advance.
Costumes
Performance costumes are separate from tuition. Families should generally anticipate approximately $60–$90 per costume, depending on the class and costume selected. Tights, shoes, or accessories may be additional.
Multiple Classes
Dancers enrolled in more than one performing class may require one costume for each class.
Creative Movement Ages 3–4
The Fall 2026 Creative Movement session will not participate in the spring performance. Dancers who would like to perform will need to enroll in the Spring Creative Movement session.
